THE WHY

At Joybridge, we’re here because we’ve seen firsthand how many people, especially in underrepresented communities, struggle to get the mental health care they deserve. Our work in these communities has shown us the real impact—too many people are navigating life without the support they need.

According to recent data, only 38% of African Americans are receiving mental health services, while 28% still have unmet needs. That leaves a significant gap, with another 21% not even reporting their needs, which tells us many don’t know where to turn or don’t feel like help is for them.

That’s where Joybridge comes in. We’re here to bridge that gap by making the process of finding mental health support simpler and more personalized. Our goal is to connect people with therapists who understand their unique experiences—whether that’s their cultural background, personal struggles, or therapeutic goals. We believe that everyone deserves access to a mental health professional who gets them, especially those from communities that have historically been overlooked in mental health care.

We also offer mentorship and guidance for aspiring psychology students and professionals, aiming to build a future where more people of color are represented in the field of mental health.

At Joybridge, it’s all about making sure no one has to face these challenges alone. We're committed to helping individuals not only find the right therapist but also feel truly supported along the way. Let’s work together to make mental wellness accessible and relatable for everyone.
